Brand It with Emotional Blogging

by Jenny on January 24, 2010

Have you heard of Emotional Branding?  It is a book by Marc Gobé.   An excellent read if you have the time.  His thesis, basically, is that by making your brand emotional for the consumer, you will have more success with the sales of your product because folks will return and return to your product.

It’s true that the majority of sales are built out of fear.  Most likely you have heard that before.  Fear is an emotion, and we rely heavy on our emotions when it comes to purchases (that’s why we hope you’re emotional about getting a blog going – if so, just contact us now!).

The best brands know how to connect with cynical consumers on deeper emotional levels.  This approach is key since there are more and more businesses trying to sell the same thing that are popping  up all the time.

The best brands do the following to figure out Emotional Branding:

  • Analyze Demographics
  • Analyze Behavioral Shifts in Populations
  • Analyze Retail Distribution Channels

They take all that information and then figure out how they can target all 5 senses to really hook the end user on the idea of their brand.

A blog is very important to a business’ brand.  If it were 10 years ago, then this statement wouldn’t be true.  However, as corporate weblogs become more and more common place, company’s have to figure out how to make their company blogging stand out.

Blogging is not something a company can do half ass.  It’s either all or nothing.  The best blogging tool a company weblog can invest in is a blogging service and blogging system that works.

We understand that companies might not have someone on board that is aware of social media and is therefore looking to outsource it or are even looking to bring a full-time staffer on board to man it.  But you don’t have to go through the hassle of doing all that when you can just give us a call or shoot us an e-mail.

When you choose a blogging system like Compendium Blogware, they will analyze the demographic you are shooting for, the keywords you need and give you an idea of how many blog posts that you should be doing every month.

That’s where we come in – if you cannot meet all the blog posts they suggest, then hire us to do the rest!  Of course, if you don’t want to write a single one, we can handle the entirety of the blog, if you’d prefer.

Best of all, Compendium matches your blog to the look and feel of your website, therefore playing on the emotional branding of your brand.  Now, where the blog comes into play with emotional branding is that it brings your company to a more personal level.  You are sharing inside tips and news about your company on a regular basis, which therefore becomes more like a social relationship with a friend rather than just a company.

We have tons of emotional blogging ideas for your company, so contact us to find out what they are.
