Pulling the Plugs on Your Keywords in Content Creation

Keywords play a very important role in promoting your business online through SEO content writing. When you choose the right ones and use the appropriate keyword density to write authority, high value content, then you’ll improve your online exposure. However, you can also damage your online success with keywords that are “guessed into existence” or those where very little research is done to measure future performance.  No matter how “logical” a keyword may sound to you, its true online worth is only measured by   research. Here are some tips to know when you need to revamp your keyword list and alter your website or blog writing.

  1. Changes in market: Some niches are very sensitive to seasonal changes and you’ll detect this during specific times of the year or by new product releases in the market. If you have a blog marketing laptops, for example, then each time a new software update or products is released, then you will notice a spike in demand. When you are aware of the new changes in the market, then you can easily modify your keyword list to consider these changes. If you continue to market using the same keywords without taking the changes into consideration during content creation, then you will lose a golden opportunity to increase your sales. Product descriptions are very important during these periods. By using SEO product descriptions you increase the chances of getting noticed by the search engines.
  2. Competitor analysis: You should not use the same keyword as your competitor because this reduces your chances of getting a foothold in the same market. Your keyword list should be better. You should also discover if your competitor is copying your keywords by using Good Adwords Keyword Tool to see which ones appear on a certain webpage for a particular product or article. If you find that this is the case then you may need to reconsider to keyword changes to your websites and hire content writer to re-work the content.  The next option is to choose competent content providers to create authority content and link from credible websites to yours. This improves your page rank and also increases the chances of doing better online. Again you must consider which keywords you intend to use to get the best and most profitable ones.
  3. Algorithm updates: You should review your content and keyword list every time the search engines release a new algorithm. A new release indicates changes that will directly affect how your website and content are ranked. Always keep a list of websites where you created backlinks to assess the website in the future for the same keywords you wrote content for. Considerable changes to a website’s rank for a certain keyword are an indication that you need to reconsider your choices.
  4. Bounce Rate: Website visitors will often find your website using specific keywords in the search engine bar. You can look at the backend of your C-panel to understand how most visitors arrived at your website or through Google Analytics.  You can use it to assess your bounce rate on particular pages. A high bounce rate indicates that you are not reaching a relevant audience and will need to change how you are writing blog posts or website content. As such, take the time to evaluate the keywords you have and see which ones are least favorable to your niche and also which contribute to a higher bounce rate.

Assessing your keywords and SEO strategy on a regular basis can help to keep you ahead of your game and avoid costly disappointments in the future. Being bent on a particular set of keywords limits your exposure rate.
